Climate

The coastal region of Ceara extends 775 km along the Atlantic Ocean.

The climate is tropical. The average temperature is 27°C (81°F), and the average annual rainfall is 775 mm (1.5 inches).
Ceara belongs to the “Caatinga” region, a semi-arid land in the northeast of Brazil characterized by a short rainy season of 3/4 months per year and high biodiversity. Thanks to the difference in climate, the fauna is rich in Ceara.
The main climate is semi-arid, hot and dry.

For about 8 months there is no rain and the average temperature is around 30°C in some areas of the Sertao. During the rainy season (February to May), the temperature can drop to an average of 25°C. On the other hand, the coastal regions as well as the higher elevations benefit from milder temperatures and a more favorable humidity for vegetation, which varies from 23 to 28°C.
